Wars & Rumors of Wars
“The return of war, epidemics and the climate crisis, all those disruptive forces have derailed the global recovery,” Mr. Schwab, the forum’s executive chairman, told journalists on a virtual briefing on Wednesday, ahead of the convention’s start on Sunday.
Quotes from Klaus Schwab reported by Joe Brennan in The Irish Times, May 28, 2022
“Those issues must be confronted in Davos, and the global food crisis in particular needs our immediate attention.”
Today we will continue to look at our world to see if there are signs that we could be living in the final days before the events that will culminate in the return of our Lord. And today, we will look specifically at what Jesus said we should expect if we are in those final days.
In Matthew 24 and it’s parallel in Mark 13, Peter, James, John, and Andrew went to Jesus privately on the Mount of Olives and asked him what the signs would be of his return and the end of days. Here is part of his response:
“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
Matthew 24:6-8 (NKJV)
In essence, we would be seeing the very things mentioned by globalist Klaus Schwab above.
In this article, we will be focusing on “wars and rumors of wars”.But before getting to this, we need to start with the phrase “beginning of sorrows”. This is better translated in other versions as “birth pains”. A woman giving birth has contractions that become more strong and more frequent as the process progresses. The entire process can be very short or very long depending on the woman and the circumstances, but once true contractions begin, the woman knows that the baby is coming.
Jesus told us that there would be signs of his return and that they would be like labor pains, growing in frequency and intensity until the end. At some point during “labor”, the church will be called up to Heaven and the 7-year tribulation period will begin bringing with it the most intense “labor” the world has ever seen. (Please see my articles on the “Vanishing People?” and “How Will the World End?” for more on these topics.).
World War I was one of the deadliest wars in history with millions losing their lives to combat and genocide. I can only imagine that the people living at that time wondered if this was the war that would usher in the second coming. But it was not. Since that time there have been conflicts and warfare almost continuously in various parts of our world.
But it was not just warfare that Jesus mentioned but rumors of wars. This includes not only the threat of war but also cyber-attacks, terrorism, and nuclear warfare. Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, all of these threat levels have increased.

Of course, the most concerning “rumor” is the threat of nuclear war.

I do not believe that any widespread nuclear warfare will occur prior to the Rapture of the Church; however, the book of Revelation tells us that during the first part of the tribulation, one fourth of the population of the earth will die. This could easily be nuclear related.
When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living being say, “Come!” I looked up and saw a horse whose color was pale green. Its rider was named Death, and his companion was the Grave. These two were given authority over one-fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword and famine and disease and wild animals.
Revelation 6:7-8 (NLT)
The Bible also talks about a very specific war that will take place, likely just before or just after the Rapture, called the Gog-Magog war. Current events are quickly coming together to make this war a reality. This will be the topic of our next article.
