Nicolena Barnet
My name is Nicolena Barnet, and I’m barely an adult. However, in my time as a non-adult, I’ve learned incredible life lessons and found eternal grace. I grew up with a loving mom and a not so great biological father, who stubbornly remained a part of my life until I was seventeen. Despite that, I learned when I was young that my heavenly father would never fail me, and I chose to rely on him. Then, God blessed me with an incredible earthly dad who officially adopted me in January of 2019.
We moved halfway through my highschool career from Wisconsin to Florida, and once again I had to rely on God. I was in a new state where I didn’t know anyone, but God led me to some incredible friends and experiences that have shaped who I am today. Now, I am a sophomore in college studying marine biology, art, and religion. I still don’t have my life planned out, but I know that if I continue to trust in God, he will lead me in his plan.
Through my life I’ve learned forgiveness, trust, and the beauty of grace. I hope to share some of those lessons with other people who struggle to overcome their past or face their future. I pray that my experiences can be a blessing to others, and I know that God will use me to further his plans.
